Kim and Andrew's Greek Orthodox Wedding

Kim and Andrew's Greek Orthodox Wedding

My second photographer sent me a text that read, "I took over 400 photos in the first 20 minutes." I thought, "That's how you know you're photographing a Greek wedding." There is so much action and so much happening all at once that you don't even know where to point the camera first. I got super excited when I saw the Gyro Truck at the church (I mean, we're definitely going to do a photo there.) and we managed to get the last little bit of fall foliage under a gorgeous yellow tree at Antrim 1844. Once the dancing started at the reception, it never stopped. At the end of my coverage, I left Kim and Andrew cheering their family on the dance floor to the sound of Greek music.

J & R Wedding at Loyola Chapel and the Belvedere

J & R Wedding at Loyola Chapel and the Belvedere

From the time I walked in the door at the hotel I was on the wedding roller coaster with little idea of what was going to happen next. You can plan a wedding all you want but sometimes you just have to go with the flow and be in the moment. There were so many friends and family present that it was bit intimidating at first, but this couple's happiness and enthusiasm were so infectious I immediately felt at ease. All I can say is Puerto Rican families know how to party. Too many awesome moments to count at this one.

Ashley & Ryan at Swan Cove Manor

Ashley & Ryan at Swan Cove Manor

There was definitely some last minute shuffling, rearranging and problem solving going on for this weekend. I did a site visit a few days before the wedding as a hurricane threatened to blow through their celebration on the water.  Fortunately Ashley and Ryan are the outdoorsy types so when the bulk of the storm went out to sea and left them with a ceremony site under water. They quickly moved everything to the tent, told everyone to bring rain boots and didn't worry about the weather. We photographed under stormy skies, we all got muddy and everyone had a fantastic time.
